Black Arches Palace

Centuries of wealth and nobility of the city of Chiavari have left an indelible mark on the fascinating buildings scattered throughout the entire municipal territory. Located in the heart of the historical center of Chiavari, the Gothic Black Arches Palace dates back to the 1400s: located at the foot of the Castle and near the medieval walls, it owes its name to the dark color of the arcades that gives it a special charm. It has undergone several renovations, but the faรงade still retains the characteristic alternation of bands of marble and slate.

The amusement park

In December, most teen-agers of Chiavari go to the amusement park, called Luna Park, near Colmata Mare. It's a very cool meeting place for Chiavari's young people!

Ginkgo biloba

It has got light green leaves. In autumn leaves take a bright yellow coloration. Its seeds are edible and they have an unpleasant smell! Yuck! Despite this, it is considered a delicious ingredient! Ginkgo biloba is a very very very old plant! It dates back to 250 millions years ago and it is a living fossil! It can live for 3000 years old! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Canfora Tree

It is an evergreen tree, it comes from China and Japan. This tree can live for about 1000 years old! Its leaves are green and thick and its flowers are white. Its oil is used for mothball remedy.๐Ÿ› It is  the symbol of Hiroshima because it has been the first plant to grow after the atomic bombing. Infacts, this is considered as the Life Tree and it is sacred for Chinese and Japanese.

VILLA ROCCA PARK

Villa Rocca is a botanical park in Chiavari, in Italy. You can go there to see some very rare plants, such as cactus and aloe vera. Or you can find some animals, for example turtles or fishes ๐ŸŸ๐ŸŸ The entry tickets cost 1€ for the whole day. Young people sometimes go to a terrace to enjoy a view of the town.

Focaccia al formaggio

It is a very particular focaccia, thinner than the classic one because it does not contain yeast and because it is filled with soft cheese .

Trofie with pesto

The typical course of the Genovese kitchen: the Trofie al pesto. Similar to wood shavings (but definitely more tasty) this fresh pasta is one of the pride of the "Superb"(Genova). It is seasoned with Pesto sauce made with basil, pine nuts, pecorino cheese, garlic, oil and salt .
